Etched

Its 28 years since 1981...and in that 28 years I have listened to a lot of music..a deluge of musical loveliness has flowed under this particular bridge, but somehow..somewhere... deep amongst the knowledge of direct debits, school appointments, holiday bookings, work angst and the daily grind...I have a mix tape from 1981 ..buried.

I heard this live on TV at the weekend

The Specials seem to be doing the round of festivals this year..and this classic of theirs, I think, has stood the test of time. At any rate..it still sounds good to me.
I was busy doing other stuff, as ever, and maybe not fully concentrating on anything...but when the "Ghost Town " ended..I launched straight into the opening bars of Chant No 1 - Spandau Ballet. I didn't need to try and remember where it had sprung from...some songs just automatically follow others..like these two. They come from a much listened to mix tape, lost long ago ..an etched memory.

It was always Spandau for me...Never the Durannies..Chant No 1 stands out still as a favourite of theirs...they started to lose me about the "Gold" time

What other songs are on this mixtape, MG? Any chance of a full track listing? I can't get enough of reading about old mixtape shenanigans. Sad, I know!
